Excellent article in the ODT on Tuesday featuring some of our volunteers.
4 surfers who were having a bit of fun with a jet ski just off the coast of Brighton, got into a spot of bother when a rope got sucked into the jet ski. 2 men tried to swim to shore. They called for help and 3 IRBs and 11 volunteers responded to rescue them. The surf was huge and 2 of our volunteers ended up going for a swim when their IRB flipped on a big wave. Another great job done by our Surf Life Saving Otago Search and Rescue Squad! Read the full article here.
